Deep foundation: the importance of piles and micropiles

So far we have not witnessed the execution of a pile, instead if it is increasingly common to see micropiles in the city, especially for its multiple applications, especially in foundations and foundations in areas with unstable, sandy, or with a level high water table. This is why we want to take up a topic that I have not dealt with lately, but that has many possibilities in the current construction.

They are used as deep foundations, that is, we are going to look for the firm (or to make them until the friction is enough to support our structure) at a certain depth, not reachable by reasonable methods, that is, without digging more than 4 or 5 m depth (due to the dangers of ground containment that this entails.

The pile company has its work area generally outside the city, for the type of foundation that is treated (of a very large diameter and designed primarily for infrastructures). On the other hand, the micropiles can be said to be "more domestic" and that "They serve everything." That is, they help us to find the firm at a certain depth, but also give us the possibility of making a screen with them, kneading them or concreting them in situ and in a way that they touch each other (blotters).

In this way we can find a company of micropiles making stresses of a foundation, generally in those that suffer inadequacy of capacity on the part of the land, fruit of washing of fines by water, mismatches by surrounding actions, increases of loads in the structures ...

Do not forget that the foundations can work with traction, and for that, even if the land is in full conditions for a normal building, it is possible that with unconventional or slender forms tractions occur in the supports, and that is why the micropiles are can be found in high voltage turrets, masts and billboards.

When we want to make a couple of basements and we are in a building in medianeras, in the middle of the city, it is common to find micropilot solutions making a screen. In this way the land is consolidated perimetrally (regardless of whether the neighbors have a basement or not) to subsequently excavate safely (eye, you must also install). But this solution is used since it has a machinery, both driving and excavation more manageable than screens. Although outside the city we find them, for example, stabilizing slopes, especially in areas with vibrations, roadsides, train tracks, etc.
